Black Violin

Black Violin

Black Violin

Black Violin is the creation of Kevin Marcus "Kev Marcus" Sylvester and Wilner "Wil-B" Baptiste, two life-long friends who combined their classical music training from Dillard High School for the Performing Arts and Florida State University with the music of the street. The result is a revolutionary new category of music that blends the structure of classical music, the improvisation of jazz, and the sounds of hip hop. "We grind to the day," says Wil-B. "No matter how hard you are and you try to be stiff. We will move you in some fashion. You may not clap, but you'll be moved. We try to captivate every single person, from an 80-year-old to a 4-year-old."

Black Violin appears in concert at the Clarion on Monday April 7 at 7:00pm. Admission is free. For more information, please visit the Clarion website at http://clarion.brazosport.edu or call the Box Office at (979) 230-3156.
