Brazosport College's Festival of Carols features the Brazosport College Chamber Choir and Lake Jackson Intermediate School Honors Choir at 7:00pm. Free admission, no ticket required.

December 14
Larry Gatlin and the Gatlin Brothers "Acoustic Christmas" at 7:30pm. Admission is $55 adults, $50 BC employees, $50 students, and $45 children. This event is SOLD OUT, no tickets available.

Brazosport College's Festival of Carols opens with a concert by the College and Community Wind Ensemble under the direction of Richard Birk. The concert will feature medleys of popular christmas tunes plus the "First Noel" arranged by Jeff Simmons, a "Can Can Christmas" arranged by Larry Clark, and "The Ultimate Christmas Sing-Along " arranged by Jerry Brubaker & Bryan Kidd. "The Ultimate Christmas Sing-Along" gives the audience the oportunity to sing-along with the band on "Jingle Bell," "Deck the Halls." "Silent Night," and "We Wish You a Merry Christmas."

The Festival of Carols is Brazosport College's annual yuletide extravaganza featuring seasonal music and activities for the entire family. Following the concert at the Main Campus building, the Student Life Board and Student Senate will be having refreshments, music, a clown, pictures with Santa Claus, and a hay ride.

The College and Community Wind Ensemble concert is on Friday, December 7, 2007 at 6:30pm. Admission to the concert is free and no tickets are required.

The second night of the Festival of Carols features a concert by the Brazosport Choral Union and the Lake Jackson Intermediate School Honors Choir. The concert will open with a processional to "Masters in this Hall," followed by the Lake Jackson Intermediate School Honor Choir, David Hill, Director. The Chamber Choir will then sing "Coventry Carol." The Chamber Choir will be the be joined by the Civic/Grand Chorus, double brass choir with percussion and Organ for John Rutter's perennial Christmas favorite, "Gloria." All choirs, audience and brass will combine for the finale, "Oh Come All Ye Faithful."

The choral concert is on Saturday, December 8, 2007 at 7:00pm. Admission to the concert is free and no tickets are required.

Rita Coolidge

A versatile singer blessed with a clear, pure voice, Rita Coolidge is a capable stylist in rock, pop, R&B, country, folk, and even jazz.  In 2005, Rita released a CD entitled "And So In Love" featuring sultry standards like "Sentimental Journey", "Cry Me a River" and "Come Rain or Come Shine." Rita's performance with the Brazosport Jazz Orchestra features songs from her jazz CD as well as her greatest hits.

Rita Coolidge appears in concert with the Brazosport Jazz Orchestra at the Clarion on Saturday, January 19, at 7:30pm. Tickets are $35 adults, $30 students and BC employees, and $25 children.
