Frequently Asked
Questions
How do you decide which artists to book at the
Clarion?
The Clarion Administrator is responsible for
booking the artists. The Clarion Administrator
consults with experts in the presenting
industry, artists' agents, attends nationwide
booking conferences, and networks with other
major presenters to explore which acts are
interesting and touring. He also relies on our
own audience members to make him aware of
artists they'd like to see perform at the
Clarion. He then works with the Clarion
Programming Committee to determine which acts
are feasible for our market, our venue capacity,
and our presenting budget. The Clarion
Programming Committee is comprised of Brazosport
College faculty, staff, and students, as well as
community leaders.
How do you decide what to charge for tickets?
Ticket prices are driven by artists' fees and the
production costs associated with presenting a
show. While all of our ticket revenue goes to
pay for artists and production expenses, ticket
sales alone do not always cover the costs of
putting on our shows. Corporate and individual
donations are a large part of cost of the shows you see.
How can patrons give feedback on shows or
suggest other artists to book?
We always want to hear what you think and whom
you want to see. If you'd like to tell us your
comments on past Clarion events or if there’s an
artist or perform at the Clarion, please email
us your comments and suggestions:
